I'm sure you caught the VariDOF blog was posted on April 1st (who ever did that did a great job!) but it turns out the NEX-FS700U is very real.
Sony released an official press release with details including the FS700 does have an ND filter wheel and can shoot 120fps at 1080 in a 16 second burst, 240fps for 8 seconds and 960fps at a lower resolution.
The 4K outboard recording firmware will come later, which is OK because no one makes a 4K outboard recorder. And the price is higher, "less than $10,000" which means a street price of $9000.
