Sony could have made the price point around $15,000 like the F3, C300 and Scarlet but since Sony has decided to sell them for half that much they are going to sell a million of these... including one to me. It seems to handle the highlights better than the FS-100, has ND filters and is future proofed with 5K capabilities. Plus, it takes stills!
A was just talking to a friend of a friend who bought a F65 who said producer's don't want to pay for that level of camera when they can get the same look out of a F3. Now, the same thing is going to happen to those F3 owners. And C300, Scarlet, FS-100, AF-100, etc.
On this link there a couple of great videos showing the auto-focus (yep, looks like auto focus, no A/C need fear for their job yet) latitude and slow motion capabilities. The slo-mo looks so good I'm afraid it's going to be the new trend when this camera comes out. Lots and lots of slo-mo...
